Looking back on 2015 (personal)

2015 was a really huge year in my life. It’s been the first time that I’ve really felt like a real adult. I had several amazing opportunities that I will remember forever. Since I wasn’t actively blogging last year (even though I tried) I thought I’d show you 2015 in a nutshell.

The first pivotal moment of last year was when I won a chance to go to Las Vegas for an event called Caper. It was a Paul Mitchell event for “future professionals” to go and learn from some of the top artists in the industry.

Soon after that, I worked my butt off to graduate from school on the Paul Mitchell Deans list. I’m so glad that I did it because it really pushed me to make the best of my education, and since I was paying a lot of money to go to school, I wanted to do everything I possibly could to learn and be good at what I do.

As a treat to myself (and my family) we went on our last family vacation to Disney World. I felt like a giant kid and despite it being about a trillion degrees outside, it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I was probably more excited to be there than most of the children.

In about May I found out that I won a contest called Beacon (which toook place in June) where thousands of beauty school students send in pictures of their work, and 100 get to go out to Las Vegas (again) to take classes about the business aspect of being in the beauty industry. It really filled in the gaps for me between what I had learned in school, and what I needed to know to be successful.

Last, but most certainly not least, this year I adopted my cat Noodle. She’s my first pet that has been 100% mine and I love her. In a short amount of time she has gone from being a cute cat I saw on the shelters website to being my baby (she is laying across my feet as I write this) When I saw her online, I wasn’t planning on adopting a pet, but she really drew me in with her little crossed eyes and I couldn’t stop thinking about how cute she was. So, I went to visit her, and had adopted her and brought her home within 24 hours.

All in all, 2015 was a fun year for me and I have a really great feeling about 2016 and I can’t wait to share it with you!
