Easy 5-Minute Makeup

Now that summer is winding down, and a lot of y’all are going back to school. It’s time to embrace the “no makeup” makeup look. It’s prevalent that we’re going to stop waking up super early to do a full makeup routine every morning, and switch to running out the door with just enough time to swipe on some mascara (it’s inevitable). So, I’ve decided to share with y’all how I manage to pull myself together in about 5 minutes.

Conceal

I tend to gravitate towards a shade lighter than my skin tone and put little triangles under my eyes, on my forehead, down the center of my nose, and chin. This will highlight the face (I.e. Strobing) so I don’t have to fuss with contouring and add coverage giving the illusion of a full face of makeup in one step.

Mineral Foundation & Blush

Mineral powder takes less than a minute to sweep on just to lock the concealer in place so it won’t move during the day. Then I use a blush stick to add a touch of color to the apples of my cheeks.

Eyebrows

Eyebrows really frame the face so you can’t skip out on them. I use an eyebrow pencil to give them more shape, then use an eyeshadow to really define them. This is a shorter routine to just get them done as quick as possible.

Mascara

This kind of goes without saying. It’s THE most effective way to open up your eyes and look more awake. I honestly feel weird when I’m out and about without it.

Lips

This is really a toss up for me. Sometimes I go for a nude lip, but I mostly opt for a bold lip color to make it seem like I went for a “neutral” (read: naked) eye on purpose. Then people don’t even realize that you just woke up.

Nude Liner/ Light eyeshadow

This is the last step to really open up my eyes and make me look like I’m a morning person. I take a nude eyeliner and line my waterline (to disguise any redness) then I take a light (white or light nude) eyeshadow and pop it into my inner corner, and under my eyebrow to add some extra dimension in a couple of seconds.

It seems like no matter how much I want to get up early and have adequate time to get ready, I can’t seem to get my butt out of bed without hitting the snooze button 10 times (oops) So, this routine has become a staple in my life. I hope it helps y’all cut down on the time it takes to get out the door! Let me know what your quick tricks are!
