One Shirt, 5 Costumes

I’ll be honest with you guys. Planning ahead is not my strong suit. I really do try to stay prepared, but more often than not, I am rushing to throw something together at the last minute. So, with that being said, I am here to help you guys turn one shirt (or dress) that you most likely already have in your closet into 5 different costumes for any costume party situation. You’re welcome.

stripes.jpg

The only criteria we have is black and white “stripes” either a striped shirt, a sweater, or dress. It really doesn’t matter what shape it is, as long as you feel good in it! I picked stripes because it’s a classic, and I’m sure you can find something like it in your closet (or you can  pick one up very easily) Then we can create a costume by changing the accessories/ makeup.

mime

Mime

Painting your face a snow white color, and adding lines around your eyes will turn your basic striped shirt into a classic french mime. If you want to take it a step further, find a beret, and some white gloves.

burglar

Burglar

Grab that black beanie, and a mask (or use eyeliner to make a mask) to sneak around like the cat burglar you are. *no cats were harmed in the making of this costume*

pirate

Pirate

Aye, aye captain! You can go as crazy as you want with this one, every costume store should have pirate-y accessories. From an eye-patch to a parrot, you can mix and match these props to create your own version of a cute (and easy) pirate. No one will even know that you threw this together an hour ago.

beetlejuice

Beetlejuice

Because would it be a Halloween post if I didn’t reference this movie? All you really need is some pale foundation, a purple smoky eye, and green hair spray to make a convincing Beetlejuice.

referee

This one is probably the  easiest of all because I’m sure you already have almost everything you need. A baseball hat (which is super on trend), knee high socks, tennis shoes, and a whistle. It’s super simple, and perfect for a last minute costume.

I hope this helps all of my fellow procrastinators! Let me know which one you try!
