What To Do With Unwanted Christmas Gifts

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day and I hope Santa brought you something nice. Although we hate to admit it (because it’s really the thought that counts), sometimes the gifts we receive are just not right for us, and it’s hard to let those things clutter our space when they’re just not our style. Luckily, there are some things we can do.

Donate it

There are plenty of women and children in shelters around the world that would love some Christmas spirit, and if you’re not in love with your gift, why not spread the cheer and give it to someone who would really love it.

Regift it

If it’s a pretty generic gift, you can just hang on to it for when you forget someone’s birthday/holiday. It’s so nice to have a backup gift in a pinch, just be careful to not regift to the person who gave it to you in the first place.

Sell it on

There are plenty of apps (tradesy, poshmark etc..) that you can sell clothes and accessories, and you can check out letgo, offerup, and craigslist for other misc items. Trust me, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Exchange it

Sometimes, honesty is the best policy (especially with people that you’re close with) and you can explain that you love the gift and the thought that went into it. But, this particular color clashes with your skin tone (or maybe they threw in a gift receipt already) Make sure you include them on the shopping for the new gift so they A) still feel loved and included and B) learn for next time.

And with that, blogmas has come to an end. Although I wasn’t perfectly on top of blogmas this year, I did A LOT better than I expected so I’m still proud of myself. It was so much harder than anticipated to write so many posts on top of the craziness that is the holiday season, so I have a new found respect for bloggers and vloggers who are able to post amazing content every day. But, I am glad that I gave this a shot because I feel like it made me a better blogger (and taught me about time management) Let me know what you guys think? Did you get anything funny?

  1. I love the regifting idea; one persons trash is another persons treasure! But really, why not give it to someone who would make better use out of whatever it is 🙂
