Happy New year! This is my first post of the year, and I am SO EXCITED for a fresh new year. All-in-all, 2016 was a year of growth for me. I had the opportunity to do some pretty cool things and see some pretty cool places, all while setting myself up (career-wise) for the next few years! For me, it was a pretty good year and I can’t complain so I wanted to share with you guys my highlights of 2016!
Blogiversary
Guys, I have officially been doing this for one year. Well, not consistently for a year, but I made this domain name a year ago so it counts. In my first year, I have learned so much about the basics of blogging and how to manage my time in order to create good content. It’s still a work in progress- and there are going to be some changes (now that I kind of know what I’m doing) So stay tuned!
Working girl
Most of my year has been dedicated to my job (I work behind the chair as a hairstylist) I worked my way into a leadership position which has been a real learning curve for me, but it’s fun. I’ve also started to focus more on my Instagram account for my business, and I’m thinking about how I can mesh that with my blog (If you have any ideas pleaaseeee let me know)
Ireland
I went (home) to Ireland this summer for a family wedding! Most people don’t know that I’m actually from Ireland and all of my family lives there. So, it was nice to be able to see everyone and explore the country a little bit.
21!
I turned 21 this year which is the last milestone birthday (that I’ll be excited for). Although I’m not much of a drinker (except when it comes to a good margarita) It’s nice to have the option (and be able to go anywhere with an age limit)
London/Italy
I was SUPER lucky this year to be able to take another trip abroad at the end of October. I usually don’t get to travel quite this much so it was a huge treat for me to be able to tag along on a trip to London, Venice, and Florence, and it just ignited the wanderlust flame in me even more. So, who knows what I’ll be doing this year!
New Dog
And to wrap up 2016’s adventures. I got a puppy!!! I’ve never actually had a puppy before (I got my other dogs when they were older) and boy did I underestimate the responsibility. Although he is super cute and sweet, he can be quite the handful when it comes to chewing on things and his never-ending supply of energy. But, I love him so much so it’s all worth it! His name is Ollie and he is a 4 month old border collie mix (not sure what the other breed in him is, but he’s huge)
And now we’re on to bigger and better things in 2017, am I right? I’ve been writing my goals and I’m super excited to share them with y’all later this week. (Also, it feels so weird not writing a new post every day- so I may change my posting schedule in the weeks to come) How was your 2016? Did you do something cool? Are you glad it’s over? Let me know in the comments!!!
I’m so glad to hear that you had a good 2016! I’ve been hearing so much negativity about last year and this is refreshing to read. Your puppy is adorable!! I hope you have a wonderful year ahead of you 💕
