It’s been raining NONSTOP for about a week now and for someone who doesn’t ever see the rain, it’s really killing my motivation. I don’t want to go to work, exercise, or even write any new posts! (In fact, it’s taken me about 5 tries to sit down and write this) All I feel like doing is sitting on the couch and stuffing my face (which is stressing me out). I’ve come to learn that it’s ok to take a day off and be unproductive. So, I thought it would be nice to share with you guys how I like to spend a rainy day off!
Read
I recently got back into reading (please send book suggestions) and there is nothing quite like reading a nice story while getting cozy with a cup of hot cocoa. Plus, it always makes me feel so sophisticated.
Movie Marathon (or Binge watch TV)
If reading isn’t your thing, movies are the next best thing! Whether it’s a marathon of your favorite movies to get out of this rainy day funk or starting a new TV show (I’ve been watching The Magicians) It’s a good way to relax and escape the stress of everyday life.
Mani/ pedi or Massage
If you need to get yourself out of the house, you can go and get yourself pampered. A fresh mani/ pedi will make you feel refreshed and a massage will make you feel so relaxed. So, you can really take advantage of the soothing ambiance and be ready to take on the day.
At home spa
And if you don’t want to leave your house (like me) It’s time to take a nice bath (with candles), put on a facemask, and treat yo’ self.
Journal
I’ve been using my bullet journal religiously and it’s almost therapeutic to write out my plan for the next few weeks and decorate it. You could also look up journalling prompts, write lists, or write about whatever your heart desires. (or you could be productive and write a blog post but I’m never productive so…)
Color
When in doubt, color it out. Adult coloring books have been such a huge trend and they’re really as amazing as they sound. It’s so calming to sit and color a page which is perfect if you’re trying to have a low-key day.
Let me know! What do you do to relax? What’s your favorite book/movie/tv show?
YASSS what a great post, and perfectly timed because all it’s been doing here is raining *sigh* But the Mani/Pedi treatment is one of my favorite things to do for myself and its perfect because I know I don’t have to do anything after I can actually let them dry lol

It’s so hard not to lol The only time I can get away with it, is when I use a quick drying top coat which I haven’t had for months now…
