March Favorites!

march favs

This month I have been ridiculously busy which means it was time to simplify my morning routine. So, I’ve been trying to find products that are quick and easy but will still give me that #flawless look. Also, since I have been busy (and there is literally no Sephora in my area, I’ve been using a lot more drugstore products, and can I just say that the drugstore brands have REALLY stepped up their game. I am super impressed with them so this is what I have been loving this month!

cushion foundation

Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation

A cushion foundation is SO good when you’re on the go, they’re easy to throw in your bag and they’re easy to apply. I apply mine with a damp beauty blender, and this formula makes me look like I just have amazing skin. I would say that the coverage is light-medium which is fine for me in the summer when my skin is behaving a little bit.

jeffrey star highlight ice snow

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Ice Cold

This highlight is my ride or die right now (and probably for a long time because it’s so big that it’ll probably still be using it in when I’m in a nursing home) The pigmentation is incredible, it’s the perfect color for my pale skin and I just love it. Whenever I wear it people tell me that my highlight is on point which is always a good thing to hear.

laura mercier candle glow

Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder

I bought this on a whim a while ago (because I had a gift card and why not?) And I’ve been using it every day. Since I work long days, and I don’t typically get any time for touch ups, I feel the need to set all of my foundation. But, I also really love the more dewy look; so you can see my problem. That is where this finishing powder comes in! It is (in fact) a powder so it helps to set my makeup, BUT it has a sheen to it so my skin still has that glow.

Loreal Voluminous Mascara

I can’t really justify spending $25 on mascara right now, so I’ve been testing out a few different drugstore options, and this one is by far my favorite (so far) I feel like it’s comparable to Too Faced Better Than Sex because it gives my lashes the length AND volume. Is it 100% perfect? No, but it really does the job and I recommend it.

peach buff march favs swatches

Maybelline Matte Peach buff

I am OBSESSED with this formula. I only picked this up because I saw 2 of my favorite YouTubers talking about it and boy does it live up to the hype. This has been my favorite nude color to wear with almost every eye look. It’s so creamy and pigmented that you wouldn’t even know that it’s from the drugstore. Everyone needs to try it and for only $7 you will be going back to get the rest of them.  (Next to the swatch of the lipstick is a swatch of Ice Snow)

morphe bronzer palette.jpg

Morphe 9BZ Bronzer Palette

Doing a full highlight/contour takes some time to perfect, and I would rather sleep in. So, I switched that out for a strategic swipe of bronzer under my cheekbones and on my forehead to give a sun kissed “natural” contour. I love this palette because it has so many colors for any skin tone and it has a good mix of warm and cool tones AS WELL AS giving some matte and some luminous options.

nyx born to glow primer

NYX Born To Glow Primer

Annnnnd we’re back to my love of glowy skin. To make sure that my skin doesn’t look flat I have been using this illuminating primer under my foundation, and even sometimes on days that I’m not wearing makeup. It just adds a subtle glow that makes my foundation a little bit more luminous and keeps it on longer.

My clear skin was short-lived so I know that April will be a little bit more full coverage and skin care based. (please send me suggestions for skin clearing products) Let me know what you’ve been loving this month and as always leave links to your march favorites in the comments!

  1. I’m totally interested in the Born To Glow primer. I’ve just come to terms with my love for primers so now I’m wanting to try out as many as I can. NYX stands as one of my favorite brands so all signs are pointing for me to go find this!!!
